SEVENTEEN’s Wonwoo apologized for demeaning Girls’ Generation.

On May 9, he revealed his handwritten apology letter through the official SEVENTEEN fan cafe.

On the letter, he said, “Rather than making excuse that I was young and don’t remember it, I think it’s right to apologize and get punished.”

Moreover, he apologized by saying, “Even I wrote it when I was young, it’s certain that I wrote it. So I feel sorry for Girls’ Generation, fans, and Carat (SEVENTEEN’s fan club). I also feel sorry for my members.”

Wonwoo confessed, “I only thought light of the stars on TV and didn’t imagine that my words would hurt someone. After I became a trainee when I was a middle school student, I realized the burden of being a such person.”

In addition, he showed his determination by saying, “I cannot dare to ask for forgiveness. But I just want to apologize for Girls’ Generation members. I cannot help but say sorry for my wrongdoings. I will work hard and not disappoint the fans again.”

Wonwoo had posted photos and comments demeaning Girls’ Generation when he was an elementary school student. Recently, these were revealed through an online community, and the fans became angry about it.
